Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach me at groundedsounduk@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question, or if you'd like to talk about your specific needs

This is a little difficult to say in detail, as every session is uniquely designed around you but I can tell you what to expect when you contact me, and give a general overview of the approach I will take during our sessions.

Contact me to arrange a session, and when we first meet I will have an information sheet and a short medical questionnaire for you to complete.

Each session will begin with a gentle conversation, initially to set the intention for the healing and subsequently to review and assess progress week on week, then we will spend time working with sound vibrations using the various different instruments and the voice, all tailored to your needs in that present moment, often involving guided breathwork and visualisations, and ending with a period of silence to integrate the experience and a short de-brief, when we will also discuss a suitable daily practice which I will recommend specifically for you between sessions (further details about that in the commitment FAQ below).

The session will be conducted with you lying down comfortably, or sitting if you prefer, as you absorb the healing sounds. Clients remain fully clothed throughout, and nestled under a soft blanket.

Sometimes sessions can be deeply relaxing and you may find yourself drifting off, particularly if you are having a relaxation session to de-stress and unwind, but other sessions can be more interactive and stimulating, dependent on your needs and intention.

Every person responds differently to therapeutic sound work, and the number of sessions you may need depends on what you’re wanting support with, how your body responds, and how much space you’re able to give yourself in between sessions.

Some people come for a single relaxation session to soften, unwind, and reset. Others feel called into a deeper period of support, especially when they’re navigating overwhelm, emotional heaviness, navigating a chronic condition or experiencing a sense of disconnection or dis-ease.

If you’re new to my one‑to‑one work, you’re welcome to begin with a standalone session to get a feel for the space. From there, you can choose to continue with occasional sessions, or step into a more structured therapeutic journey if you feel you need steadier support.

For those wanting deeper work, I offer The Re‑Grounding Pathway — a six‑session therapeutic journey over twelve weeks, with fortnightly sessions. This gives us time to move gently, build trust, and support your nervous system in a steady, sustainable way.

You’re always welcome to message me if you’d like to explore what might support you best.

The Re‑Grounding Pathway is a six‑session therapeutic journey over twelve weeks, with fortnightly sessions. It’s shaped for anyone feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or in need of deeper emotional support. The steady rhythm gives your system time to soften, process, and integrate between sessions, while still holding you in a clear therapeutic arc.

This journey is for you if you are experiencing:

• overwhelm or emotional fatigue • disconnection from yourself or your body • patterns you can’t shift alone • numbness, shutdown, or exhaustion • difficulty talking about what’s going on • a period of transition, loss, or uncertainty • a sense that something needs to change

You don’t need to arrive with the right words. You simply need to arrive.

Each session builds gently on the last. Here’s the shape of the twelve‑weeks:

Session 1 — Arrival & Orientation   We explore what’s happening for you, what you’re carrying, and what you’re hoping to shift. Your first sound session helps your system settle and open.

Session 2 — Grounding & Regulation   We work with sound and breath to support your nervous system, helping you feel steadier and more resourced.

Session 3 — Emotional Processing   Space for deeper release, clarity, and gentle unwinding of what’s been held.

Session 4 — Integration & Embodiment   We explore what’s shifting, what’s softening, and what’s becoming clearer.

Session 5 — Re‑alignment   A session focused on strengthening your inner steadiness and reconnecting with your own rhythm.

Session 6 — Closing & Next Steps   We reflect on your journey, what’s changed, and what support you may want going forward.

How do I choose a tier for the pathway?

The pathway uses tiered pricing, so you can choose the contribution level that feels comfortable and sustainable for you.

The contribution tiers are simply an invitation to honour your own circumstances. There is no right or wrong choice — each tier offers the same level of care, presence, and support.

You might choose:

  • the Accessible Tier if you’re navigating financial constraints
  • the True Cost Tier if you’re able to meet the full cost of the work
  • the Community Support Tier if you feel resourced and would like to help make the      work more accessible for others

You don’t need to explain or justify your choice. Simply choose the tier that feels most aligned at this moment in your life.

If you begin with a standalone first session, the amount you’ve already contributed is taken off your chosen tier.

What if I need to pause or reschedule sessions?

Life can shift, and sometimes your capacity changes. If you need to pause the pathway for a while, we can do that — the work will be here when you’re ready to return. There is no pressure to move at a pace that doesn’t feel right for you.

If you need to reschedule a session, just let me know as soon as you can. I hold the pathway with steadiness and flexibility, and we’ll find a new time that works.

The intention is always to support you in a way that feels grounded, spacious, and manageable.

After the pathway

You may choose to continue with ongoing monthly support through my membership space, where we work with seasonal themes, monthly one‑to‑one sessions, and a gentle WhatsApp community.

You are welcome to step into that space if it feels right for you.

Thinking of booking?

If you’d like to explore whether the pathway might support you, you’re welcome to reach out for a gentle chat. We can talk it through together and see whether it feels like the right support for you.

Please see the 'work with me' tab for details of the different one to one and group sessions I  offer and the pricing information

As your therapist. my responsibility is to support you on your journey towards self-healing and to facilitate your healing process.

As the client, your responsibilities are equally essential in order to really get the most from our sessions together. I have seen what a difference it makes to the whole process when a client is 100% engaged and ready for change, with a commitment to take ownership of their own well being. It is so important to approach the sessions with an open mind and an open heart, ready to heal and grow and experience real change for the better. You will need to commit to showing up for the sessions ready to release and transform, and to embrace any daily practices I recommend for you between sessions. These daily recommendations will only take 5-10 mins, but can make a huge difference to the overall results from the sound therapy and build on the powerful work we do together during each session.

If you make a financial commitment to pay for these sessions, then you will want to commit whole-heartedly to get the most from them. For this reason, I do not sell gift vouchers for my Re-Grounding Pathway, as personal commitment is so important to the outcomes.

Of course, gift vouchers are available for my relaxation sessions, and make an ideal gift for any loved one at any time.

Absolutely.  Everything discussed is completely confidential. Often when you feel a change is needed in your life, you can really benefit from talking confidentially to someone you feel comfortable with. I am here with an open heart, ready to help you to discover and achieve what it is you are seeking.

The professional code associated with my training qualification stresses the importance of accurate and up to date client information, and all the written information I retain is strictly private.

You are very welcome to bring a partner, family member or friend along with you for a 90 minute relaxation with sound session at no extra cost. It's a sort of a 'buy one get one free' in my sound therapy room! Of course, you may well prefer to have some much needed 'me time' and just enjoy the experience alone!

I have helped people with a variety of conditions from stress and anxiety, physical pain and emotional pain to personal and spiritual development. You may be struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, addiction, stress, anxiety or major life changes. There comes a time when help may be needed to cope with many of life's challenges.

Or you may just not feel like you're enjoying full wellness and wellbeing.

Or, you may have tried lots of other things that haven't made the difference you're looking for.

Generally, people come for sound therapy wanting some kind of a change for the better, wanting to feel more positive about themselves and their life. They may want peace, clarity, acceptance, a sense of freedom, or energy, or of more balance in their lives.

Many of the people I help are carrying stress, which can be caused by physical pain or emotional pain, or current life circumstances. It can also be caused by long term traumas, emotions or feelings you've been holding on to, which can affect current personal relationships with others and your relationship with yourself.

My one to one sound healing sessions are deeply transformative and necessary for deep healing.

If you don't feel you need a deeper level of sound therapy, you can always take advantage of my shorter relaxation sessions to unwind and re-energise, or join me at one of my group events.

I also offer evening sessions, half day and full day events and retreats and occasional weekend retreats too. There's always lots of healing sound, along with meditation, breathwork, cacao and tea ceremonies and much more!

Please see the 'work with me' tab for more details, and do send me a WhatsApp message to join my mailing list if you'd like to hear about my upcoming group and community events.

Sound baths are played for a whole group with a group intention, which can be something like bringing in peace and relaxation or opening our hearts to love, whereas as you'd guess, individual one to one sessions are tailored specifically for you. In a longer one to one therapy session we can go very deep, discussing what is causing you any current difficulties and what positive outcomes you are personally wanting.  Certain conditions are far more effectively treated in individual transformational sound therapy sessions, which are suitable for physical, emotional and mental health issues.

Sound baths are a real tonic for stress, bringing deep relaxation and can also help relieve minor conditions like headaches, mental overthinking and minor physical joint pains for example. They are a great way to rest and reset on a regular basis. I intuitively play the instruments very gently, creating beautiful ethereal effects with instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, wind gong, soft drums, chimes, hand pan, Native American flute, guitar and gentle, soothing voice. The intention is to bring you back to  your natural state of complete peace and calm.

A gong bath is often held in a bigger space, as the larger gongs are generally louder and can be more intense, and can fill up a very large hall with sound. Sound baths can be held in smaller, more intimate spaces and can feel less overwhelming than multiple gongs played together.

I am very happy to provide group sound baths for you and your friends / colleagues, which we can tailor to your group's requirements. Please contact me to discuss.

My Grounded Sound Facebook page is always up to date with any upcoming public group events, some of which include larger group sound baths and various other events too!
